In order to attract consumers to their stores would be, many retailers offer discounts on popular items in the store. Otherwise, consumers would have no incentive to buy on Black Friday. In some places, especially in the Midwest, buyers often experience cold weather in the day after Thanksgiving, but most people will come prepared for long lines and endure the winter air.
